| TweedleWink or Wink... which is for me? |
|
There are two main Right Brain Education programs: TweedleWink and Wink. Simply speaking...
TweedleWinkWhen looking at learning through the lenses of the right and left brain, we came to form a simple theory. Before the conscious, logical left brain is developed, infants, toddlers and early preschoolers have direct access to their right brain and all the wonderful capabilities of effortless, photographic, sponge-like learning. We see this as a wonderful opportunity to offer as much high-quality input as possible so that a rich neural network of images and information is created for lifelong learning. Tweedlewink was created for this wonderful open window of time where a mental and emotional library can be created as a foundation of learning for life. WinkOnce a child has "bridged" over to more left-brain, conscious thought, the right brain can become less used and no longer picks up information at a glance -- simply because the left brain doesn't learn that way and doesn't believe it possible. When we applied certain techniques to the children who had graduated into the preschool, elementary and high schools (yes, even to the youth who had entered colleges and universities), we found an incredible ability to speed read, speed scan, remember material photographically as well as with several mnemonic techniques, such as memory linking. Yet, our results were not consistent until we found the key: a solid foundation of love and relaxation. Wink was created to keep (or reopen) the right brain pathways active in learning and living. Education is a tremendously powerful gift. When we can help our children use both sides of the brain, and help them cultivate the unique genius that comes from having full use of their hearts and minds, that can change the way that humanity goes into the future. |
