Active Elise | Active Elise |
By a TeacherElise, 12 years old, was a lovely, outgoing, social girl who played soccer, acted in community plays, sang and danced. When she began coming to classes, she was always eager to try anything. She settled quickly into right brain play. One day, we decided to play with PhotoEyeplay color imaging. We set out seven felt squares. I watched her eyes dart quickly over to indigo and purple. "Interesting," I thought. "Do you like these colors, Elise?" "Oh, yes!" she replied. "They're my colors." She gazed at the squares for a long time. On the next game, Memory Train, she remembered more than three times what she had remembered before. Her sequential recall had tripled! Color imaging was a key for her. And the fact that her body craved the cool colors -- indigo and violet -- made sense. She was an active, on-the-go, kind of girl. These colors helped slow her down a bit to relax and enjoy more right-brain type activities. |
