Newborn stage

Baby is developing vision, fine and gross motor skills and the fundamentals of language. Critical bonding is occurring with primary caregivers. Basic needs come first before all learning play. Parents can introduce basic concepts when they feel comfortable doing so.

Infant stage

Baby is continuing to develop vision, fine and gross motor skills and the fundamentals of language. By this time the parent-child bond should be strong, which provides the basis for right brain learning. Child feels secure and begins to explore his environment -- starting to talk, crawl, walk and play! A busy time!

Toddler stage

Child is walking (running!) and talking with greater proficiency. He repeats words and phrases and is beginning to link them to conversation and socialize in meaningful ways. He can ask questions and follow directions. He can hold a child's pencil to draw and write simple shapes.
